what folding prop should i buy for my hunter 34 1983,20 hp yanmar 3gmf,the prop on the boat is a 15/15 2 blade????????i have a 40" wheel now, will a 54" fit?????

Prop

That is a large boat for a folding prop. I would suggest feathering 3 blade for better performance in powering forward and in particular reverse.

15"

Hello Al,We show the prop to be a 15” x 12” two blade and a 15” x 11” three blade both on a 1” shaft. I would assume that the rotation is RH, but you will want to confirm, this. Hope this helps. Kevin

15x15 or 15x12

Does anyone really know what prop size was standard on the 34? Mine is a 15x12 and Mich. wheel says it's the right one for the boat. I read of everyone else having a 15x15. Was the '83 geared different than the other yrs? The engine is the same thru the years, why did the prop change?Anyone know the answer to this?ThanksPaul BryanWhisperIIISodus Bay, NY

Would not worry about what the spec was

Paul:I would not worry about what the spec was on the prop. My H'31 is spec'd at 15 x 12 for the 2GM20F and it was over propped. We not have 15 x 11 and it still could be reduced again.
