I would like to get one for the Admiral. Suggestions? Concerned of weight and folded size? Storage bags?

Me too, but that would be for myself. Have you tried one yet? As an active cyclist I would recommend not spending very much until you see how it holds up in the salt water environ. And to see if she/he really will use it. I see a lot of them on E-bay. Also in sailing community consignment shops you will find them. I would not spend more than $100. and then only if it is all alloy. No steel should be found, take your magnet. The West Marine model that is alloy is $100. more than their cheaper model.

I had two Dahon fold-ups. I bought them at marine flea markets for about $65-70 each a few years ago. I could fit one each in my rear lazarette lockers. Useful in Key West to ride around the island. Not too useful in the Bahamas, they want to license them for a fee and not too many places that I would want to ride them there.

The ones that I had were steel and did take a lot a maintence to keep the rust down. I stored them in our garage 99% of the time. I sold them on a garage sale a month ago for $75 for the pair.

Dahon makes the Mariner series that are all stainless steel and aluminum. Nice bikes but they cost about $400+ new.

Yes, there was a brand that was pretty good, other than the previously mentioned Dahon, that used mostly off-the-shelf bicycle parts and had full-sized wheels and frames.

I'm in the market as were . Colonial Beach
I have two folding bikes in my Catalina 30. They fit perfectly in my lazzerette. Get the bags for them because it helps you get them in and out of the dingy. I love my bikes and enjoy biking around places in the Chesapeake Bay when I go to them. Solomins and Annapolis are cool places to bike. I would also like to try biking in St. Michaels.

My bikes are Dahnons. They are the steel version and they haven't rusted at all and I keep them in the boat all of the time in the cockpit locker.
