Fold Down table details

I'm posting some photos of the fold down table mod I produced in case someone needs some details. I used hinges that can be easily separated (pins) on the table top so that it can be removed and used as a berth like it was originally. I went thru several templates using thin plywood and cheap throw away pine lumber that was easy to work with. As with any early boat nothing was square or plumb. I made a few minor mistakes that given more time I would have changed but overall the results have been spectacularly received by the Admiral. I added a 12 volt lighter plug to the outboard edge to allow for a cell phone charger.Frame Templant.JPG Temporary Table top in place.JPG Temporary top folded down.JPG Templant held in place with screw.JPG Trying out different configurations.JPG IMG_3484 - Copy.JPG IMG_3575 - Copy.JPG Temporary wine rack..Nope it won't work like this.JPG

This is a on my to do list. The admiral wants it on the top of the list. Really looks great. Any photos of the finished product?

Check out my post on the finished product in another entry. This is just the details of how I used cheap plywood as a template.

you wouldn't happen to have any dimensional drawings would you?

I can get you a few dimensions but what I found was that each boat is a bit different so the dimensions are rough. I made the template out of real thin 1/4" plywood and used the old table as a rough outline for the new one. I'll work up a rough drawing and post it online sometime this month.
