Flyback 20-3 Problems

I am having problems with my installed Flyback 20-3 charger on my 1999 320 Catalina. No current and no lights. And definitiely no charging going on. Called the charger company and line has been disconnected. Anyone out there know where to go on this one? Is there an internal fuse? Is it worth taking apart and trying to fix or is a better aftermarket solution a better way to go?

Check the fuse

You've probably already done this but at the risk of insulting your intelligence I'll suggest checking the fuse(s). Mine has one on the AC panel and one internal to the charger. I had the same problem at one time. The fuse on the charger was the culprit.Tim

Internal Fuse may be a symptom

The internal fuse may be a symptom. I picked up the same type of charger off the scrap pile at the marina. It looked almost new and in tracing down the problem I found the internal fuse. Eureka, I'd found the probem and had a spare charger for nothing! The only problem is that it kept blowing the replacement fuses. I called the manufacturer and, apparently this is a repairable problem. I don't remember how much it was, but it was too much for me to pay for just a spare. Try replacing it but if it continues to blow, call the manufacturer.

Flyback problem

I have heard dozens of reports of Flyback failures. When you are sure its the charger (not a fuse, breaker, etc.), call Catalina and ask for a replacement at no charge. They may refer you to the manufacturer, but it should be covered. Good luck.

I changed the internal fuse and no luck. Keeps blowing. Thanks for your help(s). Guess I'll buy a new one since the manufacturer is disconnected.
