How often do you flush through your AC seawater circuit to rid the system of sedement and filth? Does anyone use a 5% muradic acid solution when they do this? And what type of fittings or adapter do you use to allow the use of a hose to dockside freshwater?

Never, I use a strainer

This is no different than the raw water cooling system for the engine or reefer. I use a strainer to keep out the big stuff and make sure the pump is off if I'm kicking up mud while trying to get myself ungrounded. You will of course want to paint the inside of the inlet with anti-fouling paint during the rights of spring before relaunch.

is this recommended maintenance?

I never read about it in the maintenance manual - is flushing necessary?

Where I live the water at times is muddy from runoff and in the summer the water temp is in the 80's so I've been told by several people that it's something that should be done 3-4 times a summer. I looked into flushing coils on the web and several marine AC service and maintainance sections mention it in their service instructions. The addition of a 5% muratic acid per gallon is also advised. I like Rich's winterizing set-up and it looks like it could be used for that purpose also. I would like to hear from others who live in warm water locations where "crud" would keep the coils from doing their job.1vm6
