Florida sailing lessons ?

My wife and I will be in Florida mid December (actual dates to be confirmed) and would like to take 2 or 3 days of sailing lessons.

We currently own a CS 36t which we purchased last year and have taken basic sailing courses.
Since we will be in the port Charlotte area we wanted to take the opportunity to do some sailing with an instructor.



It doesn't necessarily have to be in Port Charlotte, but anywhere within an hours radius would work
Any suggestions or referrals would be appreciated.

Offshore Sailing has a location in Fort Myers Beach. That's about 50 to 60 minutes from Port Charlotte. Don't know how they are but I see them out on the water all the time

We used Annapolis Sailing School out of St. Pete. A basics of sailing for 1 weekend, then a 5-day cruise experience. Had a great time.

I was asking the same question back last spring and met other people that sail. They mostly told me to join a club..So I joined a yacht club and asked the members to come out with me. There is always someone that would love to go out on your boat. I also race with the fun club races and regattas as much as possible. I've gone from not sailing for 20 year to winning races! 8 firsts of 17 starts! That's quite a feat considering the only reason I even was on a sailboat 20 years ago was that's ware the ladies were. So suffice to say I didn't pay any attention to the sailing part. (sunfish).
Even ask around at the club or on the dock to help crew yourself on other peoples boats. (I put an add out in advance (Kijiji PEI) ware I was going on vacation offering to crew. Kind of like what you are doing here.) My ability and confidence have improved allot just from getting different people to come out with me. Never stop learning.

He is visiting Florida and not bringing his boat. Signing up for sailing classes is just a convenient way for going sailing in local waters during a short visit. Some do it to obtain a certificate of profficiency for chartering and others to learn some skills related to offshore sailing but most do it for the sailing.

If an hours travel time is important to you. Check the map before you make a reservation some of the suggestions are more than an hour away
