Shouldn't you have one on each side? Seems like you would have a fast roll to one side, then a dampened roll back the other way.... -Paul

Probably Paul. I know shrimp and scallop boats use one on each side when running. Just have to rig one off the boom and the other off a spinnaker or whisker pole?
I'm thinking off a thick piece of plexi for this unless I trip over and a big enough chunk of fiberglass.

If you are looking for a source of big chunks of used fiberglass, check the local land fill or recycling center. I see all kinds of old shower stalls and tubs at our local recycling depot. Lots of color choices as well.
