My swim platform that flops down from my First 41S5 reverse transom is great, but getting it to flop down is a pain in the butt. Is there a secret to it that I've been unable to discover?
Thanks

...getting it to flop down..." kinda lacks specifics. Can you be more clear?

I could guess: with your reverse transom, you have to push it waaaay out to get it to flop down, and you don't have any control of it.

If I'm close, just tie a line to to to control it when it starts going down.

Am I close?

I assume it's the one in the centre picture that you're talking about.:D

The picture is from the beneteau brochure

I continue to try and figure out what we are trying to 'flop'. :) I can't think of a single part of my boat that might...the crew maybe but not the boat.

Sorry for the diversion but I wanted to show what he was talking about. The girl just got in the way:D:eek:

I don't even see how it is lowered:confused:

Wow, you guys are a riot. Okay, okay, whoever it was in whatever photos you posted, I couldn't see them. Little red 'X's. I am trying to attach a photo of the swim paltform in it's flopped down position. Insert joke here. There is no obvious way to get it down - oh look, another place for a joke. Anyway............ ?

Yep, that's what I showed minus the Girl:D

How do you lower it. I don't see any leads.

To get down to it I assume you place your foot on that little step on the back stay and then down to the swim platform.

97fxdwg, for me it was he words in the question that sent my mind off. I wish I could help but I have no experience with swim platforms. It does help to see a pic though. It doesn't look well designed as I see it from a usability perspective. It seems it would be a) hydraulic or b) have some sort control line. SC

It is poorly designed, you're right. However once it's in position, it's great. Good access into and out of the water, nice place to leave mask, fins, snorkel, etc. A place to stand when you're showering off the salt. Just not easy to "Flop Down" though. Ah well, it keeps me limber.
You've been a great audience, I'll be here all next week. Thank you very much.

I am presently at latitude 70° 20' N so my sympathy :snooty: for those in the snow is limited, but when I go on R&R back to St Maarten, I'll certainly give you all a thought.
