floor refurbishing of hunter 260

Hi to all, My wife and I haave recently purchased a 2002 Hunter 260 and have done a great job getting her looking well except the laminate floor. It is dull and slightly scratched.The owners manual states to sand it with 220 paper and coat with a min wax. However inquiries at several stores that sell laminate flooring and minwax products have given a negative response on this proceedure. Thay state that this type floor is not intended to be sanded and stained. Has anybody refinished their floor? What is the best solution? The interior looks great but the dull scuffed floor ruins the entire appearance and it the first thing one sees from the campanion way. Thank you, Earl and Gretchen

Inquire with Hunter whether your floor was actual teak and holly versus laminated. Give them the hull number and they should be able to tell you.If actual teak and holly, then proceed with sanding but be very careful not to sand too much as the flooring consists of layers glued together and you do not wnat to go thru the top layer. You can get the new laminate but check with Hunter on the cost to include shipping to see if the local folks are honest.
