Flooded Bilge

I was under toe last week and the bilge kept filling with water. When the boat stoped so did the flooding. Any Answers?

You need to close all the thru-hulls when under tow as the water pressure from the towing can flow back up to bilge pump then into bilge, same with toilet, engine.

It is always a good idea to keep all through hulls closed when under way or in tow,
unless you are actually using them (like the engine cooling water intake.)

Also if you thru hulls look original, as in old Catalina installed gate valves, then they should be replaced with proper marine bronze Apollo type valves or plastic Marelon type valves. Any valve that does not operate should be replaced.
