Floating Deck Brush/Pole

Of all the things I thought would be easy to determine, it is certifying online that a particular extending pole will indeed float. And the standard west marine seems to be extremely flimsy. Any recommendations for about a 6'-9' pole and brush set?

Take a plastic foam swimming noodle, cut about a foot off the length, split it down one side and fit around the pole. Use plastic zip ties to surround the noodle on the pole. Won't sink. Use yellow and you can find it easily.

get a stout, commercial quality pole from home depot or lowes.... it wont float indefinitely, but they will float for quite awhile.

while you're there, get a brush for 18 dollars, rather than the 40 dollar ones that wm sells... I would think they should clean just as well, but I really dont know for sure, cuz ive never bought a wm brush before...

truck stops are another place to buy quality wash brushes at an affordable price....

Thank you. Very helpful. Amazing tools found at WM on the cheap. Someone on here suggested a super soaker to draw the water out of the toilet and shoot out of the window into the water. That saved me hours and $$.

I had a clogged vaccuflush that wouldn't drain and was full and foul. So I was reading through the forum and thinking I was going to have bail it out and carry up the steps 100 times, it took the suggestion of just buying a supersoaker for $20. Filled it up twice and emptied the water out of the head's window into the Cape Fear River. I was merely saying that I enjoy finding those hidden gems in these forums that save a lot of time and money. Ideas I would have never considered.

I went to Leslie's pool supply, bought one of their poles for brushing pools. It extends to about 15 feet. I bought one of their flat stiff brushes and like Jerry Clark above used a swimming noodle and zip ties. Strong and works great.

$10 extender pole from ACE hardware, has a threaded end. Simple brush (bought in 1983 for our first boat, still around). Doesn't float, but still around. Just a tad careful with this now family heirloom.

Buying "marine" extender poles is a waste of $$.

The beauty of the swimming noodle attachment is to push brush up against the hull.
