Having a little trouble with my flexible water tank on my '83 h25. I removed it from the boat during a refit a couple years ago. I don't think there was anything like a gasket between the flanges other than the ridge in the flange that makes a waterstop when the assembly is put together. For some reason when I re-assembled everything I felt like there needed to be something there so I used plumbers putty (it leaked). I'm reluctant to use any caulking as I think the fittings are designed to rotate. Has anyone had any experience with these tanks/fittings and can offer any advice?

Thanks in advance

Ugh....been there, done that, with a brand new tank to boot.

My area where my tank sits is lined with close cell foam. I also covered the hose where the hose clamp sits with closed cell foam.

My leak was actually at the inlet hose. Check your hoses really well for a good seal. Pull your tank out and inflate it....Listen for a leak when it is blown up. Knowing where the leak is helps.

I used Teflon tape on the threads also. It was suggested here.

I hope that this helps.
