I got the upgrade and did it
Mark,I found out about the upgrade one day when I was googling for information on my new (to me) 260, and found the notice on the huntermarine.com site. Since then, maybe with the introduction of the new 27, I can't find it on their site - but I'm sure if someone were to call their service department and give the hull number of their boat they could have the upgrade kit sent to them. The kit adds an extra bolt port and starboard at the bow and two more near the stern rail stantions. The bolts are supposed to hold the deck/hull seam together - I guess to prevent separation under some kind of conditions that the factory learned about.I used the instructions that came with the kit to drill the holes at the locations they specified. I then used the 5200 (or 4200, I forget which it was) to goop up the exposed laminate inside the drilled holes. I slid the bolts and washers into place, spun on and tightened down the locking nuts and then gooped them all over too, to prevent any water intrusion. That was about 14 months ago and they seem to be holding just fine. I'm not sure what problems the factory was seeing, but when I gave them my hull number they were also quick to send it out and very helpful.Hope that helps, and fair winds!MikeH
