We bought MERCATOR (formerly Jokede) in September and we are doing some repairs and upgrades this winter. For example, I have had Klacko Spars in Oakville, ON shim the mast joint, rewire the spar and install a double halyard mast head. In addition to the main halyard and spare halyard there is one courtesy flag halyard on the port side of the mast. I have perused Chapman and other sources trying to establish the proper way to fly courtesy flags etc. with the Nonsuch rig. How do most people fly their club burgee, foreign country courtesy flag, Power & Sail Squadron flag, Nonsuch Association burgee etc. I was also considering sewing the National flag to the leech of the sail as the staff on the aft deck does not seem to be positioned well. Your thoughts and advice would be appreciated. Ray Barrick MERCATOR NS30C # 208 Toronto (Mimico Cruising Club) ON Canada
