Thoughts on flying a flag from a military veterans funeral. My father loved the ocean and once a year I'd like to fly those giant colors way up high. Some say it should remain folded and stored in a case. Some say let if fly. My father was proud of his country and always flew his flag according to custom and followed protocol. So anyone for proper proceedure? Much appreciated.

do you know how to fold it back like it was when you received it if so i would say it's your option but if you really want to fly it learn how to fold it with the 13 folds in triangle form in order to store it in its proper condition

According to the VA National Cemetary Administration, "The burial flag is not suitable for outside display because of its size and fabric. It is made of cotton and can easily be damaged by weather". I would get a flag made for outdoors. You can still honor your father. Semper Fi
