I have a Catalina 27, with a heavy wet rudder. I have just peeled off the fibreglass today and water was running out as I was cutting. Each side peeled of as easily as opening a tub of margarine. I was surprised, other than the foam being saturated there was no core problems. I had anticipated that the inside might have been goo.
I will leave the rudder in the furnace room for a month to dry, and then epoxy the hole thing back together.
