I just bought a older 20' Oday (previously owned a Oday Mariner). It needs a good bit cleaning up, but otherwise is in pretty good shape. The mainsail needs to be replaced and I have looked on the internet for used/new sails. But I mostly get lists of sails that would need to be modified. So how do I get a sail for the 20' Oday??? The jib sail is okay, but stained. Also, I'm interested in replacing the rudder with a kick up rudder (which works much better for shallow waters of Florida). Other questions....I haven't had it in the water yet, so I am not sure I will like the way the swing keel works ..just pulling it up and down with a rope. I remember the mariner had a wheel/cable system of sorts. How do you replace the rope on the swing keel for the 20? Can some sort of wheel or pulley be installed? When I first got the Oday, it had been sitting in someone's yard for quite a few years and at some point it must have been nose down on the trailer. Alot of water, and leaves got in the cabin, probably overflowed from the cockpit. Yikes! It took a lot of pumping and cleaning to remove the sludge. I got all of the water out except for a little bit under the floor that you can see through the hole. I can't tell how large the compartment under the floor is, but have tipped the boat to get to most of the water. Is there anything else I need to do to be sure I have ALL the water out? Help with any of these questions will be greatly appreciated. Hoping to get this boat afloat SOON.Thanks, Kathryn
