My fixed ports in our H34 (1983) are in sad shape. I would like to replace the glass ( plastic) by removing and cleaning up and then refitting the old frames with new Plastic- either acrylic or Lexan- my inclination is to Lexan or like product. There are two on each side- the rectangle one (aft) and the pointy one forward of that. I have the metal frames.
My questions are:
Has anyone done this and what problems did you encounter?
What do I find when I start to take the windows apart ( a step by step description would be REALLY helpful here.
It appears there is a type of weatherstrip made of rubber here. I will post a picture in a second posting of the outside where it can be better seen. Is this the same rubber substance I can see on the inside? Any ideas as to where I can get new equivalent?
I think I can manage the cutting etc of the plastic ok- it is more the frame stuff I am trying to get a handle on
Thanks in advance
