I have a leaking port light. It was leaking between the plexiglass and the port light frame. Since the frame-hull seal was not leaking I decided to just take out the plexiglass and try to re seal it. I am now ready to reinstall. I read about butyl tape so I got some of that, 1/4 inch bead with primer. Then I heard about DOW 795 selant so I ordered it. Any knowledge out there on what and how to use it? Combo attack or just one product? The glass just sits in a groove in the frame, nothing really holds it in place other than the sealant.
BTW if anyone ever have a portlite issue and is thinking about replacing it, you can send the whole thing to Select Plastics in Conn. and they will repair it and send it back.
