My 1988 H35 has fixed several ports in the cabin roof that are constructed with separate upper and a lower plastic lenses. The underside of the top lense is painted white, presumably to obscure it and maintain privacy below. Some of this white paint came off when lense was being removed to address a water sealing problem - leaving an unsightly mottled effect quite noticable from above deck. Can anyone suggest what type of paint this might be so I can redo it?

No Pain on Original

Neil - the original fixed skylights, or deadlights, didn't have any paint so what you have is an owners rendition of what he liked. For our northern latitude, given the option, I'd suggest removing the paint rather than re-painting it. The paint is not needed for privacy. The cabin-side should be smooth and the outside should have the roughened surface. As for how to remove the paint I can't recommend anything but for info the plastic is Lexan so whatever is used shouldn't attack the plastic. As for how to fix the leaks I've posted some important details which should be able to be found in the archives. If you can't find them you can contact me via the "Owner Directory". Hope this helps.
