So that if I accidentally hit the "Ask All Sailors Topic List" at the bottom, I can use the 'back' button on my browser and post my comments. Current when I hit the back button, I get a fresh page. Please fix, please?

It is not a cache problem...

Do this test... Go to the bottom of the page and type something, anything, in the reply box. Now, use the "back" key to move back a page. Then use the "forward" key to move back to this page. Text you entered is gone. *yks The same holds true if you type a responce and then accidentally hit the "Ask All Sailors Topic List" at the bottom, then come back to this page. The text you entered in the "Write now" window will be gone. *cry It is just a big hassle if one types out a really well written response and hits the wrong key. All the text is gone. I know... don't hit the wrong key. But sometimes it happens. Just wondering if there was a fix for the page instead or reloading a fresh page each time.

If you write a long response

(and sometimes I've actually been known to do that! :)) I suggest 1. Write a bit, post it and then go back to edit it and add 2. Write some, then copy it to your clipboard (CNTL C) and keep writing, and keep copying This is NOT the only forum that does it, so try these tips and don't blame the messenger. :)

Not the forum

This is not a forum software problem, this is a browser problem. Some browsers will record what you enter and display it for you when you hit back or forward... some won't. Don't complain about the forum software, it has nothing to do with it.

Fix

Type what you want to type in here, then, if you need to go back, copy this, go back, then when you return here, 'paste' it back and continue typing.

Use Notepad

Or, type your real long response in Notepad. When you have it just so, copy/paste it into the forum reply box. Jack
