Does anyone know: Is it a good idea to spread a thin coat of adhesive - e.g. PL5200 - on both sides of the tank when installing new Vetus fittings on a new Vetus flexible holding tank? Thanks for the input.

No it's not. But then, neither is a bladder tank a good idea for sewage holding. In fact, if it's an UNvented tank, it's not legal for sewage holding.

Thanks for the advice Peggy. It will be vented, properly and legally installed. It's a quick solution to meet tankage requirements in order to move into a live-aboard marina. Hopefully it will see little use otherwise a larger main tank will be installed. From past experience bladder tanks usually fail because of poor installation, abrasion or fittings leaking at the tank. I just didn't want another one of those "I wish I would of..." moments somewhere down the road.

In your waters, I'd seriously consider installing a PuraSan Raritan Purasan EX It would all but eliminate your need to use the tank at all.

A followup answer to your first question: I wouldn't use any sealant at all....least of all, 5200. Teflon paste or tape should give your fittings a tight leakproof seal.
