Fitting a bimini to Cal 2 27

We'd like to fit a bimini to our restored 1976 Cal 2 27. Does it need to becustom, or would a bimini from say Catalina Direct fit a Cal? Any informationwould be appreciated.Thanks, Marcia

Cal 2-27 Bimini

My 1979 Cal 2-27 came with a Bimini. The frame appears to be a store bought model, but the canvas is custom with leather on the leading edge to prevent chafing from the boom and to allow for the split backstay.Personally, I think that the PO took short cuts with it. I plan on replacing mine with one that attaches to the stern railing rather than to the cockpit coming. It's cumbersome and for me is too narrow.I plan on installing one that also reaches above the companionway for better shading of the cockpit.Regards,
