If we are offshore it takes just a few minutes to rig and set the cuban reels. A shock cord absorbs the initial strike and the sound of a rubber band breaking lets us know a fish is on. It really just adds to a day of sailing by having a fish to grill while at anchor. With a Tuna all I do is fillet with the skin let on. When cooking we cook briefly on the skinless side and then flip it over. I agree that I don't won't to do anything that takes away the fun of sailing. we have considered bottom fishing on windless days but haven't..yet.
