Fisher Panda Generator

We have the Fisher Panda 12kw generator . The Fisher Panda manual states specifically that the fuel pump should be mounted in close proximity to the fuel tank. We have been told that Fisher Panda gave Hunter special permission to mount the fuel pump just under the generator next to the fuel filter.

We have been having problems with the generator stopping followed by it being necessary to clear the fuel lines.

We have been told we can replace the fuel pump with one that is twice as powerful which may resolve the issue.

We were wondering if anyone else has had problems with their generators cutting out and if they have, how did you solve the issue.

fuel pump

I have the 4200 fisher panda and not as big as yours but why not try
putting the fuel pump closer to the fuel tank.
How long of a run is it from the tank to the Gen.
Did you try calling Fisher Pander and see what they say.

Thank you, their local rep was in touch with them and those were their suggestions. It was their suggestion the heavy pump might work and if not then we would have to move it closer to the tanks. The reason we were leaning to the heavier pump is the wiring is already there. They even had our motherboard in their shop to make sure it wasn't another issue. Thank you for responding

IF there is room, you may want to install a "day" tank closer to the FP set...

best of luck

Running a 2 conductor 12v cable for the pump is a few hours job.
No big deal. Then you will be setup according to FP specs.
At that point, if there are still problems you can rule out the install

Not sure if you have fixed this or not, but our 2004 FP6000 has had cut out issues most every year. I was about to replace the fuel pump too, but it turned out that the standard RACOR Mini filters are very susceptible to air leakage, especially the small ones with the brass bolt in the center. The o-rings go bad from filter changing. I bought a new brass fitting with new o-rings and the problem stopped. I eventually replaced the filter with one that does not leak air.

Moving the fuel pump may create another issue being that you now have a pressurized fuel filter. Most filters want to be on the vacuum side for best results.
