We just had a 8 Kw Fisher Panda Genertaor installed in our Hunter 45 CC. The genertaor is located in the engine compartment in front of the main engine, and is almost silent, you can barely tell it's running, but the in-line fuel pump that came with the unit is VERY LOUD. The fuel pump was installed in the aft cabin, between the fuel tank and the generator. Has anyone else experienced a problem with excessive fuel pump noise on this or a similar unit? Thanks in advance. Jeff

Have you tried reinstalling it with...

rubber isolators? Use a old bycle innertube and make a few rubber gaskets. Perhaps it partially loose and noisy because of it. Maybe it's something around it vibrating. If it's still noisy after these fixes, then replace it with isolators.

Jeff. We have the same FP on our 470. The pump

is located under the floor boards along the chart table. When it is runing you cannot hear the fuel pump. When the floor boards are open there is a very low clicking sound. The suggestion is correct by trying to isolate it, but ours is bolted directly to a cross member with no insulation. Our is plumbed with rubber hose, which if yours is hard plummed with hard pipe you might try removing about 4" on either side of the pump and replacing it with diesel resistant rubber fuel hose. If that doesn't do it I would suspect it's a bad pump.
