It appears that one set of windings on my 14 year old, 1000 hour, Fischer Panda 12 Mini have gone bad. Possible options are to have them rewound, install new windings or get a new generator. Has anyone had this problem and what was the outcome.

You have several problems
First,, getting this genset out, and re-installed will not be fun.
The wiring harness for the control panel was connected to the genset before it was installed. Same with the AC output harness.

You will need to disconnect all of this stuff, and slowly feed to up with the generator as you remove it. Re-install in reverse order.
There is no way to test the genset when it’s out of the boat without a full working environment

I suggest crating it all up, and sending into FP

The generator has been removed and is at the FP dealer in Martinique. The job took about 3 hours. We used the spare main halyard to host it out. They will further assess the unit when everyone returns from the summer break.
