if you are only looking at daysailing
then either the daysailer II, Mariner, and Sandpiper are all good choices, with generous cockpits and the latter two provide some space to hide out in a rain, or have a snooze. The daysailer, lets you store all your junk on the boat, and not have to bring it home, but you would have to add a cuddy hatch cover to lock it up. The mariners after 1969 had a cover on the back, before that they had an open back, like the daysailer. If you plan to camp occasionally then the mariner or sandpiper may be better suited to your needs, although, it is crowded with four sleeping. If you plan on cruising, then you will need a significantly larger boat to be comfortable.I own a daysailer, and only daysail. It is easy to launch and retrieve, handles well, is lots of fun, yet provides a good amount of stability. I often sail solo, but have gone with as many as four. I understand it can hold seven, but I think it would be quite crowded with that many. It could sleep two, if there was no junk in the cuddy, and both people were less than 5' 9" tall. The cockpits in both the daysailer and mariners are huge, 7' 4" for the daysailer!
