Went sailing for the first time on my 1974 Cat 22 yesterday. Although she has some years on her she sailed great, and easily corrected my mistakes! I have a feeling we will be seeing alot more of each other in the future! I want to thank everyone who has given me advice through the forums. If anyone on Lake Geneva Wis. sees a sail #4 ( The rest of the #'s fell off ) That would be me. Introduce yourself and have I'll give you a cold one!

Welcome !!

John, Welcome to the wonderful world of the C-22. Although your boat may have some years on her, I doubt you will regret your purchase. In my opinion, the C-22 is the perfect starter boat for new sailors. She's easy to sail, very forgiving and should give you many hours of pleasant time on the water. Although many older C-22's have been neglected, it's amazing what can be done with a little TLC and a lot of elbow grease. My '85 was like that, and now she looks almost as good as new. I've gotten many compliments, and folks are surprised when they find out she's an '85. Fair Winds,

Congrats!

Congratulations on your new 1974 C22 launch! I appreciated reading your questions and the responses as I just picked out a new used C22. I am interested in where you put in at Lake Geneva and what your recomendations are? Did you find a slip there for the rest of the year?If not, how easy was it to get in and out? Did you like the ramp? Any other recommendations? Thanks, Mike

Put the boat in at williams bay. Def. a two guy job, there is a set-up area across the street. I went on a weekday for it was less crowded. Can't find a place for the rest of the year, put my name on waiting list for next year. Might have to look into pistakee lake or winthrop harbor. Jlav0329@cs.com
