Well, MAYBE it can happen to anyone, but I have a son and a granddaughter who don't know the meaning.
Years ago we were on a delivery of a racing boat from Ft Pierce to Jax Fl. 30 miles out, off Canaveral we caught that squall that lives there- 35- 40 knot winds, beating to weather in a 30 footer.
I had been in the the cockpit on watch, got relieved about 2200 and went below. Looked for the kid- 10 at the time. No one there. How can a kid get lost on a 30 footer??
Then WAY up in the bow, I see a light. It's the kid.. Got his head shoved all the way into the forepeak, with the light on we used to find sails, reading!!
I asked whatthe hell ya doing?? He says he didn't want to bother anyone, so he came up there to read!!! The damned bow was pitching maybe 10 feet or so up and down!!!
Cast iron stomach-grin
The grand daughter used to go on party fishing boats with her dad .Not the same son,who also doesn't get sick(often anyway).
She'd delight in eating a baloney sandwich and offer the poor rail up-chuckers a bite!!
Little imp!!
Neither of them have ever had the slightest twinge of Mal de mer
