First sail of O'day 23!

Today was the first sail of my 74 O'day 23.

I bought this boat for 800 bucks off of craigslist about a month ago. Since then I've had to paint the entire boat, repair a cracked hull, rebuild a junk outboard, Figure out how to put the mast up, and try and figure out how to make it go....


Here she is on the water under sail for the first time since at least 09.

Now to buy a properly sized headsail and do something about the interior. It's in ok shape inside but very dirty and now cushions.

Suggestions are VERY welcome!

Excellent! Two suggestions I have: First, go sailing (and learning) as often as possible! Second, Inspect the rigging closely every time out, looking for the little flaw with big potential.

That boat looks great on the water Bill. Old Salt made two good suggestions. I would just use it for now and take enough time to figure out what kind of mods you need to do first on this boat.

Awesome! I got my '71 O23 in mid-July and put a month's worth of work in to get her sea worthy. I put off all cosmetic and comfort work until the following spring and just daysailed those first three months.
