First Sail 2014

After completing my annual trailer maintenance...
Wheel bearings and brakes, etc...
I dropped her in at my local marina for a solo sail.

As you can see, it was very light, but nice to get out on the water! ...and it was about 70° !!!

Leisure Class!!!...

James, can you take a movie of when you raise your mast? and take down? you do it single handed and must have it down to a science! Not to mention your great camera/video work... It would help me think out what I'm doing and how I can do it better.

Congrats on a great day to sail - that is some emerald green water. Is that a break water wall in the background?

Yes, that's the outer breakwater...
The winds were so so light I stayed inside the break.

...and I promise to video the whole process of my solo set-up procedure!

James, great little harbor! and the ocean soooo close. Is that about 25 miles from Golden Gate?

...yes, about 25 miles from the Golden Gate to Pillar Point.
I've never made the sail in my Capri... conditions would have to be just right.
That's a lot of open ocean with no safe harbor in between.
