We will be taking our 40cc from Atlantic Canada to the Florida Keys and then to Bahamas .Looking for some recommendations on a stop over marina in Georgia to leave the boat from November till January as we need to come home for a few months mid-cruise. Any suggestions on a good, safe , affordable spot ??

Come a little farther south and I can recommend a marina in St. Augustine.

Brunswick Landing Marina is very nice with a great staff and really nice and useful amenities. No current and right next to the ICW.

Brunswick Landing and Golden Isle are good places in Brunswick/St Simons. Jeckyl Island marina is an interesting stop. There are places in St Mary's that are cheap but rather 'rustic'. Those are most of your choices for S Ga.

I noticed your comment of doing the keys and Bahamas. Leaving Ga in Jan, I'd skip the Keys. Takes some time to get there, takes some time to visit but the worst part is going upwind to get from keys to Bahamas. Lots of boats sit quite a while waiting for something less than 15 on the nose.
If you are well under 5' draft you can go inside with better conditions.
But the Bahamas are soooo much better than the keys, so why bother?

I would recommend Charleston City Marina in Charleston SC. It's not that much farther north, but would have much better services and caretakers, I think and it is certainly a much nicer town to spend time in.

I can recommend Isle of Hope marina in Savanah. Well protected, safe and reasonable. We really enjoyed our stay in the area.
