Hats off to the 10+ boat crews who abandoned a race to rescue a crew of a capsized 35 footer last Monday during a Mackinac race on Lake Michigan.
A very fast moving storm hit the regatta with 60mph winds...2 did not make it.

Very sad to hear, and my heart goes out to the families of those lost.

A tragic end to a wonderful event. They apparently had done everything right and all had their personal safety gear on. That alone saved the others long enough for help to arrive.
As I sit here I simply have an empty feeling.
This is a hard one.
