Hello all,

I was attempting to step the mast of my hunter 23 and, long story short, managed to break it clean in half. I am having a heck of a time finding a replacement mast.

Current mast is 4.25" x 3" x 33ft with a 3/16th ( .18) wall. I am beginning to believe this might not be a standard size?

I was cruising the rigrite page and the closest thing I can find is a 4.5" x 2.75" x 33 ft and only .105 thick.

I guess my question is, how important is it that the mast be exact in dimensions? Have any of you replaced your masts with something non standard?

Thank you,
-Chris

I am sure there is plenty of science behind the measurements so I will not attempt to give you an opinion on the why or why not but I will argue you can start with the original manufacturer to see if they have the correct replacement. My H-23 had a z-spars mast and boom. The information was “stamped” with rivets near the foot of the mast. See if you can call them and check on price. If you do not have that info, i am sure there are plenty in the forum that can provide a picture of the stamp and the information for you to use.

Good luck.
