Oday 1972 22' South Watuppa pond and Narragansett bay
Well after 15 years of sailing and power boating on other peoples boat my girlfriend and I took the plunge and purchased a 1972 Oday 22. Came with a duel axel trailer and i had a friend that practically gave me a 9.9 four stroke Honda. The boat is in decent shape and sailable as is (pictures to come later) so going to sail for the summer and then start the laundry list of updates changes and mods I have in store. I have been lurking here for the past few weeks and have found a ton of great information. I am hoping to meet some local guys and girls also to sail with and share ideas and tips and tricks.

A little about me, I started on sunfish and have a ton of time on cape cod mercury’s (still race once a week) also have a bunch of time on a Pearson 30, jeanneau 36 and a Catalina 30. I also skipper a 50 hatteras sportfish out of Newport part time and the full time gig is a Fireman.

I look forward too all the great tips and tricks and if i can help anyone out in any way let me know!!!

Congrats on the purchase of the O'Day 22. If you need parts check with Rudy Nickerson in Assonett. http://www.drmarine.com/ He has a lot of O'Day parts.
I don't know a lot about O'Day 22s but there are plenty of people on this forum who do and will be glad to share their knowledge with you.

If you're interested in joining a nice club on the Taunton River, we are always looking for new members. We still have moorings and slips available.

Thanks guys! I just fixed my trailer and pulled the boat out to do my new motor bracket and transom reinforcement project and while I was sailing it to the ramp one of my side stays went so perfect timing now I have to give Rudy a call and order a pair!
