I am Buying my first boat for my family & I I'm looking at a 73 O'day 28 for sailing in the bays and gulf of mexico. Any info on this boat would be appreciated, how sturdy for off shore what to look for before purchase and capabilities of this vessle. Thank You Scott J.

Scott, If the boat's condition is good, GO!!!!!

Utmost importance is the boat's condition. I bought my '74 O'Day 27 in Rockport this summer. It is great. You are welcome to come see me and mine, or email me at jlcook@delmar.edu. I come to Rockport almost every weekend. JimC
