We live aboard on our 1995 First 42s7. The previous owner partied with anchor chains in the cabin and the sole has always been roughly abused. The material is plywood with rubber strips, raised from the veneer. Has anyone had success on refinishing this type of sole. It would require removing the rubber strips, refinishing the plywood and re-gluing the rubber strips in place. We do like the rubber strips as a non-skid when the boat is heeled over.
