Does anyone know the brand of toilets in the 80ies beneteau boat? More specifically First 38. I need new sealings for the pump, which is why I ask.

Its a TMC. You can tell by the little 'flicker' on the side of the pump.

Maybe. They were not very highly thought of. Kind of a jabsco rip-off, and all the bad connotation that implies.

Often national importers would spec different parts/suppliers for their boats. My little First 260 was first sold in the UK, and can fitted with a bunch of nasty Barton Marine hardware. That's all in the bin now.

Okay, - maybe I should exchange it for a new Jabsco instead of investing in spare parts for the tmc.

It's a Brydon Boy originally manufactured by a company acquired by Jabsco in the early '90's. While old styled, the toilets and pump assemblies were really quite robust and relatively easily serviced by anyone with even modest mechanical ability. Ours is a 1986 era and still works well. Sadly, Jabsco stopped making parts available some years ago and inventories of spares have been exhausted at most suppliers. O-Rings for the pump cylinder can still be obtained but the critical Lip Seal for the top portion of the pump/cylinder shaft is all but impossible to find. I used my last one this past fall and haven't been able to find a spare despite extensive searches.

HiLyte could be right. More specifically, the TMC I mentioned is a copy of the Brydon Boy that was made/bought by PAR/ITT/Jabsco/etc.

Jack--Firstly, that's HyLyte! Secondly, if the TMC unit is the same or a copy of the Brydon Boy, the replacement parts may work for either if they are still available from TMC. I have sent an inquiry to TMC. It will be great if they are.

Okay, this is exciting!
I live 800 kilometers from my boat, so it's a bit difficult to check things out.
That is why I try to know as much as possible before I buy spare parts and bring them there.
TMC answered me, that it isn't one of their toilets but didn't give any more info.

Thus far results from my TMC inquiries have not been successful. I have sent several emails to the email address posted on their supposed web-site but each has been bounced back. I shall try placing a phone call on Monday but I am not encouraged at this point. More later...

Interesting. I have re-sent my original inquiries to the address you have liisted and left a voice-message on the listed phone system. We shall see, eh?
Well that effort was a waste of time. The email bounced back in within 5 minutes of being dispatched. It will be interesting to see if the voice-message on the supposed company's listed phone number elicits a response.

Well...I hate to say it but I don't think there's any Cheese down this hole. I have sent several messages to the supposed vendor and left several voice messages on their/its answering machine and have not received any response. I shall try one last time but don't expect any better. It's a shame as the Brydent Boy head is a good piece of gear and it's a shame to have to replace it for want of a lip seal.

FWIW...
