Has anyone changed from the stop pin system to adjustable car system? Anyone just pull the pin from the existing car and add control blocks? Would like to see what others have done.

I got a couple of cheek blocks, fairleads, and a couple PXR's from Santa (GF) so I am going to give this a shot. Can always use the hardware for something else if it doesn't quite work.

If it doesn't I will of course have to get cars for the track ($$). Anyone out there know off hand what the width of the track is? I measured once back when the water was still in liquid form but I can't recall how wide it was. I am thinking it was wider than 22mm though. The Bene parts site is lacking in any info on that.

Thanks.

The ball bearing cars allow you to adjust the sail under load, which is the point of switching. Simple sliders will be much more difficult. You could call the people at Garhauer Marine. Their EZ glide system is very affordable. And they will know the track size.... but my guess is that if it is standard T track.... a 23 foot boat will probably be fitted with 1" track. This system for 1" track is offered by Garhauer for only $265...
By the way.... do not remove the existing pin stops.... they are very useful for other purposes... such as spinnakers, after guys, staysails, twings, etc. plus they are handy for a myriad of things... a fairlead for your MOB hoisting line, for instance.
