As I believe I stated, I am not a professional wood finisher; rather a tinkerer, but I am learning a lot by doing and interacting with you and Ross. Your description of sanding sealers makes perfect sense and I am sure you know a lot more than I do having been in the business for many years. I guess my point was more that a 'faux finish' could be thought of anything that was floated over an existing sealed finish (be that lacquer, varnish, wall paper/sheet rock or poly). Now I have a much better idea as to why they call the largely shellac based stuff 'sanding sealer'. Thanks for that.Nod to CtSkip: Keep it up.Caleb
