The finish in my salon is lifting leaving the stained wood below.
Just had a very professional marine electrician install a DC/USB charging station and when he lifted the blue masking tape, the finish came with.
Also, there is bubbling in joints where molding meets paneling?
Suggestions please

Beneteaus of your vintage have repeatedly exhibited failure of the laquer finish with peeling & bubbles common. When noticed on newer boats still under warranty, Beneteau actually sent crews to the affected boats and refinished the entire interior at no cost to the owner. In later years, they discontinued the cost free repair. Check out the archives for repair alternatives and recommended materials. Some have obtained repair estimates that are several thousand dollars. I haven't seen the defects yet on my '06 343; hope, it doesn't develop in the future.

Yes, a known issue with some Beneteaus where the finish was improperly applied. When done right it is a very tough finish. Find you local B dealer and get them involved. There is no stain below the finish, the 2-part finish imparts golden color and the satin gloss. But in any case your dealer will be your best advocate with the factory in South Carolina.

Just started to see this on my '04 323. One spot on the salon tabletop and a section of the nav station...
Going through some of the old threads have offered some suggestions, but I don't believe anyone has named the original product used to finish the wood, or a viable DIY product.
I can see why Beneteau wouldn't get involved with refinishing older boats, but I would think they could suggest a product that could be used by a capable owner after stripping the old finish.
Chances are not all of the panels would require refinishing at one time, or at all. The actual refinishing could be done as needed if a proper match to the original is available.

The original finish is a two-part polyurethane varnish professionally applied. Beneteau has a 7 page "Wood Repair Techniques 2003-2004" guidance document which very comprehensively details recommended repair techniques. For small repairs I am currently working with Mohawk Pre-Catalyzed Lacquer spray (available on line) and 0000 steel wool.

Gunni, where can the 7 page "Wood Repair Techniques 2003-2004", be found? For that matter are there other guidance documents available for various different maintenance tasks, other that the limited info in the owner's manual?

I am not near my computer, so I can't post it. Search the forum, I believe I have posted it before. The genius's at Beneteau USA decided to take down the Owners website with this kind of helpful info and instead direct you to their dealers. I have yet to find a dealer who actually has this info.

I think I found one root of this problem.
The Jamokes in Marion did not finish the cut ends on the paneling.
I removed the Water Heater Mount and now notice many areas where the cut ends are left bare

I tried to order a pair of the salon cabinets in my 323. They would have come from France. French Jamokes?
