Fine Fuel filter on MD engine

Anyone know a comparable part for this filter . . . having a mother of
a time finding a replacement part for it. It is the Aluminium looking
filter that attaches last prior to entering the engine and has a
plastic petcock on the bottom. Bosch is the maker, but the part No. in
the manual is not coming up anywhere. # of Bosch people scratching
there heads as they do not change numbers.

I believe that I have one of those filters lying around that you may have. I replaced the two
original filters with Racor filters just recently, and wasn't planning on reusing the old ones.
Let me know if you would like to have it.

The filter fitted to Alkira follows your description but is manufactured by
CAV not Bosch. Manufacturer of similar units is Racor. A distributor in UK
is ASAP Supplies (www.asap-supplies.com).

We have been struggling with the same issue this week on the MD6A on
Vega #1451. The Bosch fine filter 0 450 133 001 and insert 1 457
434 0611? We have a local import car part specialist looking into
it and according to Bosch in Atlanta, the part numbers are legit,
but the replacement parts (and Numbers) have changed a couple of
times. I will be pulling the filter tonight and taking it in
tomorrow so we can find the right filter. I will let you know when
I get an answer.

I replaced it with a Racor as I could not find a replacement filter in
the US. There is no problem in Canada. It did have an odd non
tapered "pipe" thread connection. Had to use a lot of teflon to seal.

Hi!

I have a MD6A from 1996. I have first a water separator with a fore filter
and then a fine filter on the engine. When I changed fine filter last
spring, it was a Bosch filter in a Volvo Penta original box. The Volvo nr.
was 829913 and the Bosch nr. 1457434051.
