One of my stern rails and two stanchions were damaged during Hurricane Frances and I'd like to replace them. I've searched the archives to no avail for sources for these items, but have seen a couple of references to ordering parts such as this directly from Hunter. The Hunter Marine web site provides zero information on ordering parts for older (or newer) boats (mine happens to be a 1986 28.5). Anybody have any options for finding replacement parts that are really boat-specific (as opposed to rigging and engine-related parts). Do people have rails fabricated? Does Hunter sell these? If so, how do you order them? Thanks. Larry

Larry, try Hunter Marine Customer Service...
first. They have always been very helpful. If they no longer carry rails for your boat you should have rail makers in your area that can fabricate replacements. We have one here in Everett, but that would be a bit of a commute. Terry

Hunter Rails Replacement
My 1990 Hunter 33.5 had damage to the starboard stern rail as a result of Hurricane Frances. The contractor doing the repairs on my boat has searched high and low for a replacement...even Hunter Factory. The best we can do is have both port and starboard replaced so they match.
