finding a transmission control cable

Hi I am trying to find a replacement transmission shifter cable for a 1978 hunter 27 that has a yanmar sb8 engine. The only markings on the cable are TX 8FT K6. It is blue, 8 feet long and the thread diameter at each end is 5/16 inch. I am not sure of the travel. Does anyboby have a suggestion? Steve

I have a used one

I had to replace mine when I moved the shifter from the bench back to a steering pedestal. It is the exact animal you describe and in good condition. I also have the SB8 I pulled from my '79 H27 in august. Everything is good on it except the head (cracked) and exhaust valve (burned.) The parts are in Philadelphia. Dunno what shipping would be. Or go on ebay to buy new cables as I did. I paid half of what Defender.com wanted, as I recall. But 3/16s seems to be the standard today.
