I just wanted to say thank you to everybody that has helped with advice on my 23.5 (and custom 19). I raised the mast last week for the first time and it took all of 15 minutes from set up to clean up. I dont have the mast raising system, but with a helper on the winch on the trailer, ratchet straps on the mast as baby stays and me lifting the mast the 23.5 was easy as can be to set up. Like I said before, 15 min up and 15 min down. EASY!!! The Red Paper Clip is now at home in her slip on Lake Toho in Kissimmee Fl. I have a few things to do yet, but hope to sail her in the next week or so. I have never formally sailed so I am reading "The Sail Trim Users Guide" I ordered from this site and trying to find someone to come out a time or two and show me the ropes, or lines or whatever the hell they are called, LOL. Again thanks so much for the help guys!!!

I enjoyed mine for 17 years before upsizing to my present boat. I have a set of Kevlar sails, that the new owner didn't want, if you are interested.

Thanks Ted. We emailed back and forth about the sails a month or so back. I am the newbie that thought Kevlar sails were like an anti pirate bullet proof gimmick.....LOL. I didnt actually think that but I had no clue as to why they even make Kevlar sails. You educated me on the racing purpose and I still donthave a clue. LOL.

Anyways, tomorrow is going to be the first sailing attempt on the 23.5. Wish me luck! I will need it.

The shake down cruise went exceptionally well, except the wind died about two hours into trip and had to motor back. I had even more fun than I had anticipated. I learned a lot in just a couple of hours. I think I just might get the hang of this sailing thing! Thanks again everybody for advice and help. I will post pics and more questions soon I am sure.
