Finally ... It's mine

After a long delay, I finally got a clear title to Vega #265.

I needed to move her 35 nautical miles down the Chesapeake Bay to my
local haul out facility. However, the boat has been in the water for
several years, and I was worried about bottom growth slowing me down
to a snails pace.

I had planned to move her, yesterday (Saturday), with a rented 9.9 hp
outboard. However, when they pulled the outboard out of storage, it
would not start... DOH! So I decided to see what would happen with
my Yamaha 6 hp that I have for my ComPac 19.

I was hoping that I could get at least 2 knots speed with the 6 hp
and had planned to move her in two days, 17 nmi each day. However,
to my great surprise, when I cranked up the Yamaha, the Vega zoomed
right up to 5 knots. I was able to move her all the way, in one day,
in less than 7 hours. I was able to save a lot of cash using my own
outboard, and not having to rent a slip for a night.

After the frustration of dealing with paper work for weeks, and
having all my moving plans get scrambled at the last minute, I ended
up having a very pleasant first cruise on my Vega. UghNow to
begin
the long road of restoration.
