Finally! Finished stripping out interior on my 222

I just started back on my boat after a brief hiatus. Now about 2 years behind schedule. It has me convinced to spend the extra money and buy a boat that's ready to go sailing next time. I've enjoyed the process, but I've definitely missed being able to go sailing. Anyway, I finished ripping out the last of the headliner material. The bad part is I actually learned the best way to rip it out when I was nearly done with it. Rip it off like a bandaid, don't pull on it slowly (like I had been doing). After that was done, I pressure washed the inside to get as much of the loose glue particles off and washed down into the bilge, then emptied that out. A few weeks ago, I was able to patch up a few dings and dents on the hull to prep it for paint. Still have a few more places that need to be faired, mainly on the bottom which is getting covered with epoxy barrier coat and bottom paint, so doesn't need to be perfect. The topsides aren't too bad. I just need to get this thing back on the trailer! Once that's done, I'll feel like I'm finally getting somewhere. I can then change my avatar, whew!

Sooner or later it's all going to come together for you. Check out a book entitled, "Fitting Out Your Boat" by Michael Naujok. I happened to run across this book in our city public library and it has a chapter in it that shows you how to apply a new head liner. All the illustrations are in color.
I uncovered my boat about a week ago and I'm in the process of repairing my mast wiring. I also have a few small cracks at the base of the mast that need welding. I have a guy coming down in the morning to look at it and give me a price. I removed my steaming light from my mast and I need to install a Jib halyard sheave block in my mast to replace the old one. I bought two new 5/16" halyards off Rudy and I'm going to splice the shackles on them when I get a chance. Outside of that, I need to patch some screw holes on my deck and fix a ding in my rudder blade and I'll be all set to put her all back together. Good luck!
