In the market for a C30 and trying to determine shoal draft or fin. Deep water 3 miles from home. + and - of each. Appreciate any input. Is jib furling mandatory for single handed sail?

Fin vs Wing
I have a C30 with fin keel. Don't know if fin allows sailing closer to wind than wing keel, but to me a comparison of fin vs wing is, of course, needing more water depth (more draft)with the fin, but it's easier to get boat unstuck if (when?)running aground. With wing keel, you can get to shallower anchorages, but running aground with the wing, I've heard, is usually tougher to get unstuck in the mud, with the flat bottom mired in the mud. Check out the international Catalina 34 site, FAQ's. They have various opinions from owners re fin vs keel. Good luck!
