Filling Problem on Water Tanks

When filling my water tanks I have to open the clean out plug to let the air escape from the tank in order to fill it quickly. Running the tanks to empty in not a problem only the filling. Any suggestions on the problem?

Vent

The C-30 has two vent hoses that run from the top of the tanks to a "T" behind the starbord sette the then connect to a stacion that is designed with a vent hole in it. You need to check the full length of that venting system for any obstrection.Pete

Re vents

I do not have the vents on my 79 Cat 30 but there is a hole in the top of the tank caps. If I fill the water to the top some spills out, but its not a big deal. I will have to hook up a vent in the future to keep everthing dry if they are real full and we are healing over hard. The water goes in easy and if I fill below the full mark not much of a prob. You should have a hole in the top of the tank cap. Maybe unhook your vent if you have one, then see how the tank fills. If it fills ok. Go ahead a check those vent lines further for blockage.
